I say this with love. I have been in the legal field for over 20 years. I know how this happens. You get busy. The headshot from your first year at the firm is still technically you, and there is always something more pressing on the docket. Photography isn’t your priority.

But here is what I want you to consider: your photo is often the first impression a referring attorney, a prospective client, or a hiring committee has of you. Before they read your bio. Before they look at your case history. They see your face.

That photo is doing more work than you think.

Why I Started Shooting The Bar

I launched Shooting The Bar in May 2022. You likely know me as the freelance paralegal business owner (s/o Knoxville Paralegal Services!) What you might not know is that I enjoy photography and noticed a gap in the field. There were no legal-specific photographers in my area, and the legal field is full of sharp, accomplished professionals who are underselling themselves visually.

Because of my background, I understand the culture, the hierarchy, and the formality. I know what a 3L looks like versus a seasoned judge, and I know how to photograph both in a way that feels authentic and polished at the same time. 🤌🏼

What Shooting The Bar Actually Does

We are a photography service built exclusively for the legal world. That means we are not a generic portrait studio that happens to take a few lawyer headshots on the side. This is all we do, and we do it for people who work in law.
